About Us
Green Land Nkyirimma Organization (GLaNO)
GLANO was informally established in October 2019 as nature’s observation club at Regent University College of Science and Technology. GLANO was established formally as an independent environmental organization under the Ghana registrar department in 2022. The Greendland Nkyirimma Organization LBG (GNO) is a non-governmental entity dedicated to the preservation, upkeep, and conservation of the environment.
We also strive to implement educational programs catering to a diverse range of social groups, including academic, traditional, professional, governmental, and other civil society entities. The goal is to enhance their capacity as stewards of the environment across different levels and periods.
We also derive inspiration from the principles, benchmarks, and objectives outlined in Sustainable Development Goals 13, 14, 15, and 17.
- Education: Within the realm of education, we foster awareness about environmental preservation across the public spectrum, spanning from basic education levels to tertiary institutions and local communities.
- Religion: Recognizing the influential role of religion in many societies, GNO collaborates with religious entities globally. Our esteemed objective involves imparting environmental education through sacred religious texts.
- Conservation and Species Recognition: Given the diverse array of species in nature, GNO assumes the responsibility of documenting both existing and new species. Utilizing social media platforms like iNaturalist, we share known species from our locality with the global community while also discovering new species from other regions.
- Cross-Culture: The aforementioned efforts foster a cross-cultural exchange on both local and international platforms. Unknown species are brought to light, and insights on environmental preservation and maintenance are exchanged. This collaborative environment also cultivates friendships among participants.
- Our mission is to be an environmentally conscious organization, where job creation and national development hinge on the preservation of the environment. Through upcycling, our aim is to minimize pollution and the depletion of natural resources.
- Our vision is to enhance public consciousness about the importance of nurturing and safeguarding the environment, promoting both ecological and economic conservation efforts through strategic initiatives in collaboration with communities and institutions.
